When pouring this ale out, I wasn’t expecting what was about to happen. The dark amber colour of the beer doesn’t give the expectation of this being a sweet ale.
But the guys at Otter Brewery have made exactly that. From the first sniff of the bottle to the last mouthful of the drink, you can taste a sweet Caramel/toffee flavour with a hint of biscuit. Almost like a twix but without the chocolate.
It is very smooth to drink and pleasing on the palate with a slight bitterness taste at the end. This Ale is very drinkable, is it a game changer? No, but is it a nice drink to enjoy a lunch time in a beer garden or at home with a takeaway? Yes.
Bottom line is this is a very enjoyable Ale.
