I was looking forward to trying Pride of Dartmoor by Black Tor after the success of the review for their Raven ale.
This Amber ale pours exactly as it’s sounds with a rich, deep Amber colour.
The aroma of fresh cut flowers is the first thing to hit the nose, with a well balanced sweet, malty finish
The flavouring of Pride of Dartmoor has alot in common with the Raven ale, the malty biscuit taste and the sweet toffee/caramel aftertaste. This is by no means a bad thing, read the Raven review and you will see why.
I can happily say I feel Black Tor brewery have come up with the goods once again. At this rate I will be finding where their brewery is and just standing outside until they sell me every beer they have.
Just like the Raven before it. POD is a very smooth ale. This amber ale is crisp, refreshing and balanced very, very well, another high score from a brewery fast becoming one of our favorites.
