The Cranborne Preacher was a strange one for me, the picture and wording on the bottle almost make it seem like it’s a cider.
The heavy fruit would almost have thinking you’re drinking a cider too, luckily that’s where the comparison ends. Don’t get me wrong I am not against cider but if I want an ale, I want it to taste like one.
Even with the dark fruit tastes of Plum and blueberry this very unique Ruby ale still holds it’s essence with a malty bitterness with a tangy liquorice after taste.
I have to say Badger brewery have managed to make an ale that will stand out a mile in a packed market and I will be honest to begin with I didn’t think this would be for me, but I can admit when I am wrong. It took about a 3rd of a bottle to get used to the taste combination but it is balanced insanely well.
