Having heard about the DIBS collaboration a few weeks ago, I was excited to be able to pick up a bottle on release day. Not only that, but this was a great opportunity to review a beer on day one of its availability.
I was looking forward to this release due to the people involved. New Lion Brewery, in my experience, produce excellent beers time and time again, and their white label series is always an interesting experience. The Vessel, Hops and Crafts and Maltings Tap House are also fine establishments, operated by people who really care for the local beer scene. A collaboration between them all shows the strength of the South West brewing scene, and this is just the tip of a growing iceberg in Devon, Cornwall and the rest of the South West.
The beer itself didn’t let me down at all. The pour, the colour, the smell…it all draws you in. The taste is really exquisite. It’s a complex blend of flavours, but balanced exceptionally well and smooth with a glorious aftertaste.
If you have the chance to pick up the Devon Independent Beer Shops #2 brew, then I implore you to do so. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, I might just have to grab some more…
