Finding a range of South Hams beers is always a really pleasing experience. Finding one in that range which I wasn’t aware of is even better.
Lifeboat 1 was one that I hadn’t heard of, and was delighted to see it seemed to be a limited edition brew. After eagerly buying it, it seemed to slip to the back of the fridge and get overlooked over a busy summer.
Finally getting down to reviewing again, I managed to find the Lifeboat in the fridge and decided to give it a bash. Despite being a couple months past its best before date, it still looks, smells and tastes wonderful.
The dark colouring, light carbonation and obviously excellent ingredients have produced a fine brew, and with the whisky barreled aging this has just added to the taste and enjoyment of this beer.
Once again South Hams have produced an excellent beer.
