Brewery: Bude Brewery
Bottle Size: 500ml
Taste:Slightly hoppy and a citrus aftertaste
Aroma:Refreshing with a slight floral scent
After the absolute joy that was Goldenleaze ale from Bude Brewery, I was delighted to find more of their products at Dart’s Farm. They were one of my ‘must have’ breweries available there, and so I picked up the Neet Light Ale.
Settling down on the sofa after a long day, I wanted something not too strong, refreshing and easy to drink. The description of this as a Light Ale, low ABV and as a session ale, this seemed to fit the bill.
The flavour is wonderful, a light bitter taste with a lovely balance of hops and citrus, which is especially prevalent in the aftertaste. Needless to say, this wasn’t exactly a sipping beer, and actually went down far too easily for a nice chilled Sunday evening!
Personally I still prefer the Goldenleaze Golden Ale I had last time, but this is pretty close. Another success from Bude Brewery, and the urge to try more remains intact.
Aside from the beer, Bude Brewery always has outstanding bottle designs, which I find a great feature. Quirky and graphically different, but without going overboard, I have to commend the appearance and branding applied to Bude Brewery’s range.
