I consistently heard through conversation and on social media that Jaipur was a really big player in the IPA game. I’ve heard lots of positive noises, and thought it was time to try it, so here goes.
The pour and the aroma are nothing short of exciting. It’s everything you expect from a classic IPA, hoppy and inviting. The first taste is powerful, flavoursome and inviting. It encourages you to drink more, but it doesn’t grab you as a great IPA. It’s nice, but I don’t think it’s distinctive.
As the beer continues, the taste becomes less powerful, and you get used to it. That’s not to say it’s not delicious, it is. The powerful hoppy flavour is absolutely something which I’d revisit time and time again. It’s just not the best I’ve had recently.
I’m short, this isn’t my favourite recent IPA, but it’s still a fantastic beer, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.
