I was excited to try the Strawberry Hells Forever. Camden has long been a brewery I’ve wanted to try, and rather than go with their standard offer, I was enticed in by finding one of the more limited brews in a local supermarket.
The branding, can design, naming and overall excitement around the beer wasn’t quite realised in the product, but I think that’s more a compliment to the marketing than an insult to the beer.
The beer itself is a light, summery, fruity experience, which is easily to drink and refreshing. It’s a really nice example of a lager, and the strawberry infusion makes it a little different from a standard lager. My only criticism would maybe be that you need to hunt for the strawberry flavouring when I’d perhaps expect it to be a little more present given its prominence in the naming of the beer.
All in all, I enjoyed this one, and I’d have it again. I’m also keen to now go and try the original Camden Hell’s lager and maybe compare just how much the strawberry added.
