Sound Bitter

Brewery: ROAM brewing Co. Plymouth, UK

ABV: 4.5%

Bottle Size: 500ml

Taste:

As the name suggests this has a bitter taste, but it's due to the dark chocolate flavours.

Colour:

In the light a very deep dark amber, out of the light almost brown colour with a cream head.

Aroma:

A rich chocolate aroma with a malty undertone.

Final Verdict:

I have been waiting to try this beer since being offered a look around the brewery by Jon.

I can only apologise to Jon as it has took me far too long to open this bitter.

The aroma and taste of chocolate dominates this bitter, and that is not a bad thing at all.
The balance of the chocolate is amazing!

After speaking to Jon you could hear the passion and pride of having his small brewery, that comes through in this very smooth bitter.

I also love the fact that hops from England and America have been used for this bitter, this is to tie in the history of Plymouth and the launch of the Mayflower to North America.

I will be keeping an eye out for the other ROAM beers I have not tried to review in the not so distant future.
